VILLAGE REDEVELOPMENT FOR 3,800 PEOPLE
Bali, Indonesia - October 2014 onwards
Done in partnership with Kura Kura Bali and GUASL.
Serangan is an island off the coast of Bali, consisting of seven villages with a population of 3,800 people. Fishing, which has always been the primary livelihood of its residents, is no longer viable due to water contamination that has worsened over the years. This has resulted in high unemployment rates. bB is developing a set of urban development strategies complemented with catalytic architectural interventions to revive the villages with alternative livelihoods and network them back into the rest of the Balinese community.
